Below you can read my thoughts on a variety of topics. If there’s a question you want to ask, just fill in the form and I’ll try to answer.
I’d love to rewind to September 2016. I will be forever grateful for my week at the Ryder Cup in Minnesota.
Leopard Creek in South Africa, no doubt. The views on that course are amazing! The Old Course at St. Andrews stands as a very worthy second place. Outside of the European Tour, I’d pick Pebble Beach - every hole is something special on that course.
My wedges, for sure. Mr. Cleveland made me some to my preferences. And my driver – I like to hit it very far.
I have a workout schedule that works around the tournaments. In order to stay fit and grow stronger, I do 5 to 6 workouts a week, supervised by my physical trainer Gommaar Dhulst.
+/- 420 yards during the NH Collection Open in Spain in 2014.
Not much. I was thinking about trying to win the tournament.
Both ways but prefer straight ones. Irons like to fade it.
Be a professional snowboarder.
A healthy nut mix, banana or apples, a sandwich and the occasional Haribo candy for when I’m low on sugar… or for when I just want candy.
At the moment, my coaches are Pete Cowen (swing), Gommaar Dhulst (physique) and Mike Small (course management, mentor). Bart Bollen coached me from 2000 through to 2014, although I still sometimes go to him for putting advice.
To complete a rubics’ cube under 2 minutes. No, seriously, I’d rather not share this with anyone. I’m not concentrating on World ranking or Race to Dubai ranking though. A better ranking comes together with good results.
About 5,000 miles
Tiger Woods, Roger Federer and Michael Jordan
62 at the at the third round of the 2015 KLM Open
Final putt at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational: 14 feet downhill left to right for birdie which in the end gave me the win. And the putt that came back to my feet during the play-off at the Open de Espana against Jimenez is also one that I’ll always remember.
My second shot at the 15th during the 2014 Spanish Open. I had an 8-iron on that par 5 to two feet. Made eagle, and that got me right back into the lead.
Yes. My first one was on the 6th Hole (190y / 174m) at Cherry Hills Country Club during the 2nd Round of the 2012 US Amateur Match Play against Albin Choi. The second one was more recently on the 13the Hole (215y / 197m) at Albatross Golf Resort on Pro-Am Wednesday of the 2015 Czech Masters.
Depending on my tee time, I go to the gym in the morning. Then I’m at the golf course for 7 hours. After this I stretch, eat and go to sleep.
The rule that you can’t take mulligans. A second serve would come in handy from time to time.
It is important, but hitting it straight is more important. When I play courses that are more open, it definitely gives you the advantage hitting shorter clubs into the greens.
I studied Sport Management at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana (USA) from 2010 to 2013, while also being part of their golf team.
